“All men dream, but not equally… the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” — T.E. Lawrence
At 45, I walked away from a stable corporate coaching career and moved to LA to build a real estate training business, with far less certainty than made any sense on paper. I’ve watched agents do versions of the same thing — Nick Papas building past $1,000,000 GCI, Kylie Charlton and David Highland growing a team from six people to more than sixty. None of them had a guarantee. They had a dream and the willingness to act on it anyway.
What’s the dream you’ve downgraded into a “realistic goal” because it felt safer?
Three Keys to Actually Reaching It
Feeling this one? You don’t have to figure it out alone — book a free High Performance Call and let’s talk through where you’re at.
- Dreams are not goals. Goals come from the head — logical, measured, safe. Dreams come from the heart, and they’re supposed to feel slightly unattainable.
- A dream doesn’t start perfect, and it’s not attached to guarantees. There’s no complete roadmap waiting for you. You build the road by walking on it.
- Reaching it requires radical action. I bought my return ticket to LA before I had a real plan for what I’d do once I landed — because a concrete commitment forces follow-through in a way intentions never do.
Take action: Make one radical, concrete commitment toward your actual dream this week — not a plan, a commitment with a real cost to backing out.
This is what I mean by Radical Ownership of your own ambition: goals are safe, dreams are not, and the entire career-changing difference lives in that gap. Chase the dream. The goal was never going to be enough anyway.
If you’re ready to chase something bigger, book a free High Performance Call.
