“How we spend our days is, of course, how we spend our lives.” — Annie Dillard
I’ve now run more than 2,000 coaching sessions with agents and business owners, and the same six things keep separating the ones who have a breakout year from the ones who just have another year. None of them are complicated. All of them are hard to actually do.
Which of these six are you already doing — and which one have you been quietly skipping?
Six Keys to Your Best Year
Feeling this one? You don’t have to figure it out alone — book a free High Performance Call and let’s talk through where you’re at.
- Get rid of all distractions. Steve Jobs said it best: “Deciding what not to do is as important as deciding what to do.”
- Create obsessive focus. Not casual attention — the kind that makes everything else fall away.
- Stop comparing yourself to others. Mark Twain called it exactly right: “Comparison is the death of joy.”
- Stop doubting yourself. Every top performer I’ve coached had doubt. The difference is they acted anyway.
- Be relentless in action. Gandhi’s line still holds: “The future depends on what you do today.”
- Don’t take yourself so seriously — have fun. Socrates knew the missing ingredient: “When you want success as much as you want to breathe, then you will be successful.”
Take action: Pick the one key you’re weakest on, write down exactly what it would look like to fix it, and start this week — not next quarter.
This is Radical Ownership of your own year: nobody hands you a breakout year, you build it out of six unglamorous decisions, repeated. Your best year isn’t waiting for better conditions. It’s waiting for you to run all six at once.
If you’re ready to build your best year yet, book a free High Performance Call.
